Workplace Wellness Whisperer – (Dec 3)

Hello Workplace Wellness Seeker,

Happy Saturday!

I’ve been coming across a lot of information on self-image and self-confidence lately and how empowering it is to be comfortable in your own skin. Developing your self-confidence starts with how we relate to ourselves. Check out my post on my Instagram or Facebook for daily gratitude affirmations.

Gratitude and appreciation are core positive psychology practices that have been shown to boost physical, mental, and emotional health.

🙏Gratitude Practice🙏

Who is one colleague that you’re grateful for?

I invite you to read these amazing statistics:

  1. A workplace that enhances employee health and wellbeing would encourage 7 out of 10 to stay at their current job.
  2. 89% of workers at companies that support well-being efforts are more likely to recommend their company as a good place to work.
  3. Research has demonstrated that workplace health initiatives can help reduce sick leave absenteeism by 27% and healthcare costs for companies by 26%.

Wellness activities and corporate wellness initiatives can make your Workplace Wellness program better if you are strategic about how you do them. Each must be communicated effectively, tracked, and incentivized.

My Workplace Wellness Calendar can guide you with some ideas for implementing your wellness strategy.

Promoting employee well-being is set up in a climate that is cultivated, embraced and supported by high-level leaders and managers of a company. When it comes to building a climate of well-being, employers need to look beyond just physical health to help employees feel recognized, valued and involved and create opportunities for growth and development. Considering the high prevalence rate of obesity, physical inactivity and other risk factors among workers, it is obvious that every firm will bear financial liability for its unhealthy workers. Recognizing this reality, forward-thinking organizations identify their employees’ risk factors before they become out-of-control cost drivers. Workplace wellness experts like me can help you develop a proactive plan of action to address pivotal employee health and work behaviour issues.

Tip #1 – Do You Know What Motivates & Drives Your Team?

Are you a manager wanted to increase your team’s performance? Then listen to this. You need to understand what motivates and drives your team members – basically their Values. Values can change throughout our life and at different stages our values can be different. If we analyze individual people within a business and draw a value profile from the collective what you will find it that you can generally boil down to 7 values. Allan Miller argues that understanding the company’s collective values is the best way to do cultural change within companies. If you value your staff and people in your organization, you get twice back. How you value people tends to be challenging for some leaders and managers because they do the same for everybody. When we understand that people can be different and appreciate other people’s profile; we are able to manage and communicate differently with each individual and get the best results. As a company if you understand what motivates and drives people, you can then manage them. Good organizations recognize the different personalities, communication styles and reward accordingly. A lot of people after a performance management appraisal in the workplace, come out feeling suck at their job because their value structure isn’t connected to their KPIs (key performance indicators). The way we can make them feel understood is change some of the KPIs to align their top two values. Aligning KPIs with their values creates a truly personalized performance appraisal experience.

Tip #2 – Heart Healing Meditation | For the Loss of a Loved One | Coping with Grief

Coping with the grief of losing a loved one can be an extremely painful emotional, physical and mental experience. I created this meditation because I was personally going through a painful experience it helped me cope with the loss and heal the immeasurable pain in my heart. I hope and wish that it will help heal your heart too. Thank-you for sharing this space with me. Namaste

Tip #3. Adopt a Fasting Lifestyle For Optimal Wellbeing

Have you tried fasting yet? The benefits are incredible and the research is astounding. Fasting helps to reduce inflammation, lose stubborn weight, increase energy and mental clarity, and even boost your immunity. My Hot Tip: If you want to try fasting, begin slow and try pushing back your breakfast by 30mins-1hr and ensure that you don’t eat anything 3 hrs before bed. But I always recommend working with a certified professional. Keep following me for the unique benefits of the different types of fast. One type of fast is called The Fasting Mimicking Diet®, or FMD®, is a high nutrition, low protein, low carbohydrate meal plan in which calories are restricted for 5 days out of a month. The fasting mimicking diet has the benefits of fasting without depriving the body of food. This diet has been proven to beneficially change biomarkers associated with aging, inflammation, and poor health. I love FASTING. It saves me a lot of time in the morning. I skip breakfast & just have a Bulletproof coffee or my mushroom morning elixir. Imagine how much time, money, & energy you could be saving if you started fasting, today. Contact me for more details if you’re ready to start your fasting lifestyle.

Tip #4. Harness The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

Do you want to know how you can apply the powers of your subconscious mind to any problem or to help you live a life of your dreams? Every thought is a cause, and every condition is an effect! Joseph Murphy, author of “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” invites us to consider our mind as a garden and we are the gardeners. We plant seeds of thoughts in our subconscious mind all day long, often unaware because of our habitual thinking. He argues that what we sow in our subconscious mind, we shall reap in our body and environment. So begin now to sow thoughts of health, happiness, prosperity, career progression and accept them fully in your conscious mind. Continue to plant these wonderful seeds of thought in the garden of your mind and you will reap a glorious harvest. When you begin to control your thought processes, you can apply the powers of your subconscious to any problem or difficulty. You will be consciously connecting with the infinite power and law that governs all things. I challenge you to create or choose an affirmation that resonates with you. Make it the last thing you say before bed and the first thing you say in the morning before getting out of bed and watch the magic happen! Share this with a friend, family member or colleague who really needs to hear this.

Tip #5. Get Your Body Moving With Chair Yoga

How are you moving your body throughout your workday? It’s important to take physical and mental breaks throughout your workday. Even-though I don’t recommend it, sometimes, it’s difficult to leave the office and go for a walk. So the next best thing is chair yoga. Try these simple and quick exercises, do about 20 repetitions 3-5 times throughout your work day.
